We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the players and families for participating in the 2024 season. We hope the players enjoyed their time on the field, and that families had a great experience supporting them. A special thank you goes out to all the volunteer coaches who dedicated their time and energy to coach this spring and summer. Your commitment is the backbone of our program! A big thank you to everyone who volunteered to help generate fundraising money to keep the program affordable and continue adding programming for our players.
This season presented us with the most challenging weather conditions we've ever faced. The spring and summer rains were unprecedented, disrupting our schedules, particularly for the 3rd-6th grade league that plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigated cancellations more than ever before. We acknowledge the frustration of uneven field conditions and share your desire for improved facilities to better withstand heavy rainfall.
A massive thank you goes to Krista Abbott for her exceptional work as the In-House Director this season. The relentless weather demanded an extraordinary effort to manage cancellations and prep fields. Krista often took on the work of attempting to make fields playable. Please let her know how much her efforts were appreciated as this type of work often goes unnoticed by many. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the coordinators who assisted Krista: Tom Schultz, Kelly Hagler, and Katie Dalaska. Your contributions are deeply appreciated.
Krista Abbott will be stepping down as In-House Director, and we are seeking a new director for the 2025 season. We are also expanding support roles, including a coordinator for each age level (PK-K, 1st-2nd, and 3rd-6th), a Mid-Season Tourney Director, and an End of Season Tourney Director. These volunteer positions are vital for maintaining our program. We are also seeking family members with younger players to join our committee in other roles that support the entire program or travel levels so we can successfully transition those roles over the next two years as many of our current committee members have players aging out soon. If you are interested, please email us at traafastpitch@gmail.com for more information.
